Currently own All Clad D5 cookware. Getting tired of cleaning the rivets and also the lightness of the fry pans. We cook on gas, up to 22K burner output. No intention of switching to induction or electric in future.
Really liking the Demeyere products, no rivets and they seem better to cook with based on reviews. Would like to switch over to Demyere but having some reservations on models and the weight. The industry 5 is very similar to All Clad albeit a tad heavier which is no problem. The Silver 7 (aka Atlantis, silver 7 is a Sur La Table rebranded Atlantis with different lids/handles) is much heavier and quite a bit costlier. The heavier pans do concern me with respect to my wife using them and also both of us will be in retirement in about 10 years.
Given the gas stove we use, we're not seeing much benefit in going with the Silver 7 over the Industry 5. The Silver 7 is nice, sure, just a bit too expensive and larger pieces a bit too heavy as we get older. I do not think on a gas stove, there would be much difference between the two that we would notice. If we had induction, I believe the Silver 7 would be noticeably better.
I'm leaning towards moving to the Industry 5 not the Silver 7. What do you all think?
Thank you! Joe P.
