I'd written a few months ago about the new mid-range "American Bistro" coming to the old site of Louie Louie in Delray Beach. It's being built by David Manero, the man behind the very succesful Vic and Angelo's jsut across the street.
This will be competition for Tryst (which has become one of my favorite places in town), run by the folks behind 32 East and DaDa.
The latest news about The Office comes from a informational sign just posted in front of the still-under-construction site. The menu's going to have Mark Militello's name on it!
What his actual level of involvement will be, I don't know.
As for The Office itself, in June, the PB Post had written: "The creator of Vic & Angelo's has dreamed up a new restaurant concept featuring American food, craft beers — and affordable prices... The Office will feature burgers, beers, plus seafood and steaks in the former Louis Louis space on trendy Atlantic Avenue... plans are to open by Thanksgiving."
I suspect Thanksgiving is going to turn into Christmas - but we'll see as Manero has deep pockets.
Expect the design to be fabulous as it's being supervised by the same group that did Vic and Angelo's (I believe headed by Manero's wife).
