I'll be travelling to NOLA in about a month with 8 good friends from college. We're looking to celebrate reuniting with a lovely meal together. However, as we haven't seen each other in quite awhile (and are a fairly jovial group to begin with), we're likely going to be a loud group. Don't get me wrong, we're not a bunch of heathens. We're all professionals who know proper dinner etiquette, and we'd have no problem quieting down if asked. However, we're simply looking for a place where a little conviviality won't be an issue.
I'm assuming this eliminates the consensus best picks such as Commander's or August. We'll be dining there in smaller groups for other meals throughout the weekend. Are there any restaurants with food that rivals those places but with a SLIGHTLY more casual atmosphere? Is my apprehension misplaced? Thanks so much in advance for any suggestions!
