I saw a mention in a previous posting regarding Brent's that Delicious Bakery in Northridge supplies them with their unbelievable rye bread. I had heard that, before they went out of business, Brown's Bakery supplied all Brent's baked goods. Anyway, there aren't too many Jewish Bakeries in the Valley I haven't frequented at one time or another. They're my weakness. However, this is the first mention I've ever heard of Delicious.
So, of course, I had to run over there today. I picked up a double-baked rye, just like the bread used at Brent's. The sweet baked goods - black & whites, chocolate chip danish, etc. all looked great. My waistline wouldn't let me try them today.
So, does anyone have any details about Delicious? How long have they been there? (The storefront looked fairly new and was very clean, unlike the old Brown's). Are the owners from another bakery in the past? What do you recommend? Has anyone tried their sheet cakes? (Thinking about ordering from there for a kid's birthday party).
Just looking for the whole scoop on this new (for me) find.
Thanks so much!!
