New Deli in N. Raleigh

I went to a pre-opening party last night at a new deli/market on Leadmine Rd. called Poppyseed Market. It's in the same strip mall as Nina's Italian restaurant. Any of you that live in that area probably are aware that a deli was in this space over the past few years with a couple different owners. The new owner has updated the interior and is looking for more of a small bistro type feel. The menu contains a variety of deli sandwiches and prepared foods. They are also going to sell wine by the glass (1 red, 1 white) that will be available for purchase at the store. The wine selection for sale is fairly small, but an excellent mix. The deli prices by the pound are quite good for a small deli. All the meat is Boar's Head and it is cheaper then Lowe's next store. They also have a variety of retail goods like cookbooks, wine glasses, and kichenware. My fiancee is going to use them for catering so I will keep you posted on that............

I recommend checking it out and meeting the owner Julia. She is the sweetest person you will ever meet and I have no doubts that you will fall in love with this place.
