Last weekend I found myself traveling south far outside of my sphere when I noticed a substantial line at a gas station in Sunnyvale for a cart labeled "Delhi Chaaat" (at Old San Francisco Road and Fair Oaks Ave).
The popular dish seemed to be the bread pakora, so I ordered that and the dahi papdi chaat. I didn't love the bread pakora, but that might be the nature of the dish for me, as I found it a bit soft and uninteresting on the whole. The chaat, however, was better than I've sampled before--the wafers were obviously home-fried, yet not yet soft enough to be off-putting.
I had only the stomach for 2 to-go dishes, but the stand seemed quite popular. While I thought it was better than average, but not worth a destination from a distance it seemed many valued it more than I might estimate.
