My experience today at the Indonesian Consulate
brought to mind a different unique NY lunch
pssibility: The Delegates Dining Room at the
This one outsiders are in fact welcome at. I
ate there once before, and really enjoyed it.
They have a buffet lunch for $21, which often
features food from a specific country. During
my visit a couple of years ago it was Finland.
For April, they are serving an "International"
menu on the buffet, except for Fridays, when it
will be classic French. In May, they will be
serving South Korean food.
From what I recall, the only catch is that there
can be some security related delays, and I think
you do need reservations, as security will have
your name on a list.
