Peter Yee recently mentioned Delanghe,

so I thought I'd add a comment as we've not talked about this bakery for a while.

Last Tuesday I stopped by at 7am, thinking I wanted to check out its hot chocolate offering. I asked for details, and declined the steamed milk with cocoa powder topped with whipped cream. Though it had kept me wide awake until 1am and bounced me out of bed unusually early, the taste memory of david kaplan's steaming hot cup of chocolate sin from the previous evening deserved to linger longer unsullied.

I settled on a raisin roll, still warm at this hour with icing yet unset and a dab of rich pastry cream in the middle. Amazingly buttery flavor, how is it possible to infuse that much butter?!? I noticed that the man at the next table was enjoying one too, then he stepped up to the counter for another that he made short work of as well. Highly recommended.
