Last week, a mini-disagreement broke out in the thread below on rotisserie chickens. One person held that, in her experience, Domincks's rotisserie chickens tasted something akin to a toxic dump. Others held that they were wonderful.
Based on my experience at the recently burned down Dominicks in Lakeview, I sided with the toxic dump position.
Today, i was doing a little work in my office in the northwest and ventured into Dominicks (specifically in Park Ridge at Cumberland and River Road)looking for a sandwich or slice of pizza.
I have to admit that I was tempted by the rotisserie chicekns and how good they looked. So, I went for it.
For $6, I got a pretty good half roast chicken with some roasted vegetables. The chicken was fresh and juicy with no remnants of that awful toxic taste the chickens had at the old toxic Dominicks in Lakeview.
Overall, it was pretty tasty.
Thus, i must eat my previous words with regard to Domincks' rotisserie chicken. Maybe there's a difference in the way that they prepare them in the burbs versus the city??
