Deep Fried Mussels Anyone?

zackly | Oct 7, 202002:05 AM     22

I like but don't love mussels like I do other seafood; shrimp, scallops, clams, oysters, crab, octopus, squid etc. I enjoy a few then the taste gets to me. Would I be wrong to say cloying sweetness? Since deep frying improves everything (note Snickers and Twinkies) I Googled deep fried mussels and got several hits, from the basic breaded and batter dipped to some more expotic Asian treatments. I can see where the proper technique or sauce might make them more enjoyable to me. I'd like to find a good recipe for mussels because they are always available and they are inexpensive (for seafood anyway). Anyone have any ideas about deep fried mussels? Thanks!
