I have new GE Cafe gas range. The oven is also gas and it is convection. When I thought it wasn't working (nothing wanted to bake) the service rep said I should always use convection mode in this oven.
I'm not liking convection for everything and unsure if I should use it for cakes for example (there is one in there now). GE does not have a forum on its website or any other way to find out from consumers.
QUESTION: Does anyone have experience with a gas convection oven? What should I use the convection mode for/not for. Note: this oven has Convection Bake as well as Convection Roast. It's mainly cakes, cookies, cupcakes, general baking I'm worried about. I had the rep convert the temp back to normal on this oven since it figures we are dummies and cannot remember convection should be set to a lower temp. So I adjust it accordingly and sometimes not at all,.
