Help decide my Thai place in SF

Dennis S | Dec 1, 2004 07:33 AM

I'm coming back out in a couple of weeks (around the 16th) and while I'll be out for a few days, I have one night on my own.

While I had a list leftover from last time I was out, an SF transplant to DC started a fiery thread on the DC board.

While I know SF has Chinese that trumps just about anywhere in the US, DC is strong in Thai and Vietnamese. While I do think DC has the VN thing down (and the Thai, too), there is more chance for parity on Thai between the two, and I know that style better.

So I've been given a list, that follows. I'll do it democratically (unless someone can sway effectively) and try the place that comes up most. To be fair, I am looking for the real deal - not fancied up for american palettes.

Locations would be a huge help, too. I'll be able to get just about anywhere in the City - I will be staying SoMa.

- Thep Phnom
- Marni Thai
- Koh Samui and the Monkey

Additionally, can I get a location for Y. Ben House? I couldn't find it last time I was there.

Thanks to all in advance!
