Found a decent Upper East Side Ethiopian

newsjoke | Jun 28, 2004 08:27 PM

We had a pretty good meal Saturday (combination platters) at the very creatively named "The Ethiopian Restaurant" on York Avenue in the 80s. Not stunning (I prefer things a bit spicier), but pretty darn good for an ethnic place on the Upper East Side. (Stay away from their "honeyed red wine," though, as it tastes like a combination of cheap port and black cherry soda.)

I'm not sure if it's been reviewed here before, as-- thanks to the aforementioned highly creative name for this place-- the Chowhound "search" function brought up every Ethiopian joint in the city, and I didn't have the patience to wade through them.
