Sounds damned good, I will follow your lead.

I too was fortunate in the mid-week choices. I'm partial to white Loire wines and scored with a 2004 Clos Roche Blanche Touraine at $11 from LAWC. Crisp and clean with light herbaceous notes and pleasant fruit. Did not disappoint when accompanied with salmon cakes and a butter-leaf salad.

Stumbled with great good luck onto the 2004 Domaine Grand Veneur Cotes-du-Rhone Rouge Reserve, from LAWC. Spicy but not overbearingly so, some typical Provencal garrigue characteristics, nice fruit and and a long, sweet finish. Quite a bottle for $8. Paired especially well with a roasted rack of lamb from Trader Joe's with mustard, garlic and thyme rub. I'm going to re-up with a handful of bottles tomorrow.
