Welcome to our December voting thread for DOTM. It was a somewhat slow nomination period, and only two dishes gained much traction. The good news is that they excellent options that both offer a lot of flexibility.
LAKSA is the Southeast Asian noodle soup, with a broth that can be based on a coconut curry or a sour asam. The Wikipedia article on laksa is quite informative and should give you an idea of the range of possibilities.

MOLE will encompass the full range of Mexican sauces based on chiles and a variety of other ingredients which may include nuts, fruits, and chocolate. From mole negro to mole verde, all are fair game here, including pipians, manchamanteles, and more. The focus will be on the sauce, but of course you can also report on the dishes you make that incorporate the sauce.
