The most decadent sandwich in Toronto??

atomeyes | Feb 4, 201203:53 PM

I made arrangements with The Sweet Escape (in the Distillery) to have this sandwich made up.

It was:

-Buster Rhino's smoked beef brisket,
-slathered in Buster Rhino's barbecue sauce, and
-with two maple bacon doughnuts instead of buns

I named this creation "The Rhino Buster".

I went in today to try it, while a friend had the same, except with pulled pork instead of the brisket ("The Miss Piggy").

Part of me thought it would be a monstrosity and I wasn't sure what to expect. But yeah, glad I did it.

It was so bloody delicious! The bacon crunch of the doughnut, plus the smoke from the brisket, which was all tied in with the barbeque sauce.
I split half of the sandwich with my wife but I could have easily (or shamefully) eaten one on my own.

I'm including a picture of The Rhino Buster so you can appreciate this delicious mess in all of its glory. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is one of the most decadent sammies in Toronto.

Its not on Sweet Escape's menu, but they will make it for you if you ask. Just call/tweet them first, I guess, to make sure they have maple bacon doughnuts available that day.
