debuyer vs. unnamed brand

rmarisco | Jun 20, 2012 09:02 AM

ok i just broke down and bought a debuyer small pan. $20 on clearance at tuesday morning (hurry - there might be one left for you!)

so here's my question - i was just in cost plus and they had a nice pan, which they were calling a wok, for under $20. (looked more like a country saute pan - flatter bottom than wok, and shorter sides. it was made in china and had a nice, large, wooden handle.) is there a reason this would not be as good a pan as a debuyer? it felt heavy, was carbon steel, and was a reasonable price. the quality LOOKED good.... i'm wondering if it might be worth trying
