Just got back from speaking with Kostas, the owner of Zorba's. He was willing to give us a five course banquet for $24.78 that includes American Coffee, and a choice of three main courses, or $25.96 that includes a choice of Flounder, in addition to the other three main courses. Zorba's is a BYOB; tax and gratuities are included. He did say that he was willing to give us a special price because I was a regular customer (Usually $25 plus 18% gratuity)
Here's the menu:
Cold combination appetizer plate for each table of 4 (About four different goodies; I lost track)
Large Greek Salad for each table of 4
Choice of entrees:
Stuffed Eggplant (for vegetarians)
Special Dessert: Galaktoboureko (I lost consciousness as he was describing this, but ingredients included custard, Phyllo, honey, etc, etc)
((Adding flounder as a fourth choice of entree would add another dollar to the banquet price; including the gratuity, it would come to $25.96)
He did want a rough count a week before, as well as indication of which main course each person would prefer. Again, a rough count (*main course)for him to plan his shopping.
I realize no decisions have been made. We are not committed. POssibly Zorba's could be a November destination if a different site is chosen for October.
Oh, I forgot. The room in the back can accomodate up to 50 people. We do need to guarantee 15, but there's no limit on the upside, up to 50. My husband indicated interest, and would join me.
So, what do you think?
