DC seafood this weekend

Landing in DC late tomorrow night for four days of blossoms and museums. I know it'll be a bit of a madhouse, and it's very last-minute to get reservations, but we're trying to eat well anyway (of course).
Top of the list is seafood, since we live in a land-locked place. If we're looking for immpecably fresh and well-prepared, with originality lower down the list, and a cosy or bustling ambience, should we go for Black Salt, Hank's Oyster Bar, or Hook? The first two come recommended by friends, but the board seems to think highly of Hook. Same friend who says Black Salt also says crabcakes at Oceanaire and Sea Catch. Is crab even in season?
We're staying at Tabard Inn, with no car, so location factors in - will go far afield only for a place that's ahead of the pack.
I'm also interested in southern (or southern inflected) food and Creme cafe is sounding good...comments on that?
