Thanks to the hounds who responded to our query about restaurants near Penn and 6th, NW. We had a terrific weekend. Ended up eating dinner Friday night at Burmese Restaurant (turns out, my inlaws know the owner) and had a delicious meal. I didn't bring the takeout menu back to Boston with me, but I recall that we ordered K___________ chicken ...this was my favorite entree. The sauce, which pooled on the plate around sliced breast of chicken, was tangy, thin, and perfect on rice. Mango pork was interesting....not sweet at all, but when we saw that pickled mango was used in the marinade, that made sense of the lack of sweetness. Shrimp curry was less intense than the Indian versions we've had, but very tasty. My two year old ate her noodle soup with great gusto. I liked that the sauces were not heavy, yet were very flavorful.

Unfortunately, we did not order the green tea salad. I hope we make it back soon so that I can try it, the menu description makes it sound scrumptious. We enjoyed extremely friendly service and overall a great time was had. Thanks again!
