Three days in Montreal and two in Quebec City for a family vacation in mid-June. Child is a 14-year-old adventurous eater.

Two things:
(1) Favorite picnic items from Jean Talon. Also interested in any special produce available at that time of year plus any destination-worthy prepared foods at the market.
(2) Moderately priced restaurants near the Jardin du Gouverneur hotel in Quebec City. Especially interested in French places, but family also enjoys Italian, Greek, and sushi. Also a good bakery. We will probably eat big lunches or dinners in mid-afternoon.

One other thing: anyplace good for lunch near the Ontario border along the Transcanadienne highway?
Thanks in advance!
