After an uneventful restless flight, we descended into a gray and wet CDG. Much to our delight, this was the tail end of the front that ushered out hot summer temps and provided us with the most glorious sunny Fall Sunday afternoon.
After a taxi in, we ended up taking our first meal at Le Spicy Home of all places since that’s across the street from our pad. It was actually quite good and the waitress/hostess was wonderful.
After we dropped our bags, we did the Ste Chappelle > Rue de Martyrs > Cluny/Sorbonne to the Pantheon which was fantastic.
But then the winner of the day ... Rue Mouffetard!! What a delight and we really seemed to shake most of the tourists. Especially so at Place de la Contrescarpe ... what a delightful spot!
We took a table at La Petite and Maria won with an awesome veggie bowl. Really enjoyed just hanging out and watching a pretty talented dude thrashing on some cool guitar relative. A quick stop at Amarino and back for rest.
We had decided to stay close to home tonight given first night in but found some energy and started at Mobilis in Mobili ( sorry Marty for the repetition lol) ... neat spot was very busy and we shared some mussels over cocktails. Thx Parn ... we fell in love over mussels at the Montevideo Yacht Club so this was great!!
Walked Rue Montorgueil and ended up at Experimental Cocktail Club which was also really cool .... even if we were the oldest Patrons. :)
Paulette was better than imagined in terms of ambience, vibe and service. A few tourists in the mix at 9:30 which makes sense given the Les Halles location. Unfortunately, we hit the wall right about the moment the server dropped the plats. My steak was excellent ... I think Maria was half asleep lol.
Big day tomorrow .... more to come!
