A day in Wellfleet

My daughter and I planned a day in Wellfleet, We arrived around 2:00 and stopped at Frying Pan Gallery, our favorite art stop in town. We then secured a rooftop table at Pearl for a drink and raw bar. If we waited until 3, it would have been Happy Hour prices. We shared 6 littlenecks and 6 oysters. Incredible...the Margarita's come in tall glasses, really too big (what a dumb complaint I know) as I prefer a short squat glass for my drink. Also despite being told the drink was made with a house blend of mix (vs pre made which I abhor) the drink was quite lime green and sweet. I drank more than half. Our waitress was great. The bills was 35+ for two drinks and 12 raw bar items. We then visited 5 other galleries. The many along the marshside all have amazing backyard gardens. What a treat. The rest of Cape Cod was experiencing some nasty weather but W'Fleet was sunny with dark skies in the distance. We then stopped in at Mac's Shack around 4 for sushi and drinks. It was great to seeJason the bartender who is a reliable and friendly bartender. My Don Julio house made Margarita was perfect and served in a proper glass. My daughter chose our sushi; the mango tuna tartar martini, the wave and a kamakaze. I have photos on my iphone so will try and post later. All I can say is wow....super fresh, so pretty, tasty and amazing..the bill for two drinks and 3 sushi items was 70.00 before tip. This is my favorite spot in town.

Lastly, I have to recommend a non food stop, Rara Art Gallery. All of the art is from a little island in Haiti. The island, Lagonav has been struggling to survive due to the lost of fertile soil from storms. Check out their website. The art work is incredible. www.artmatenwa.org

Happy Eating...
