Hey everyone! I've been reading these boards all day, and I've found a LOT of helpful info! My mom and I are taking a trip to Boston to tour some colleges for my 17th Birthday. Now, in no way am I the "typical" teen eater! I absolutely HATE fast food and chain restaurants (Chilis, Fridays, etc...). I'm definitely a foodie! (More so than anyone else in my family! LOL!) My favorite shows are Top Chef on Bravo and Ace of Cakes on FN if that says anything!
I've never really had "fine-dining" before. My most elegant meals have probably been at The Melting Pot (once a couple years ago) and Walt Disney World! Michigan is filled with completely mediocre food, so my palate has pretty much been deprived of all Boston has to offer! ;)
Anyways, we'll be in town Wednesday night, Thursday, & Friday before leaving Saturday morning to head towards Baltimore & DC. I've come up with a list of restaurants, but with my limited time I need help scaling it down! I'm definitely an adventurous eater, so that's no problem!
Craigie Street Bistrot - Wednesday Night for the Chef's Whim
Hei La Moon or China Pearl - Dim Sum, I've NEVER had it before but it sounds like a great experience
Grezzo - I'm a huge health-nut and love trying new places like this
Neptune Oyster - I've heard the Clam Chowder is great here, the only kind I've had has been out of a can (not very good!) and I love seafood
Helmand - I've never had Afghan food before (remember, from MI!), but the menu sounds great!
My mom & I usually have a small breakfast (protein bars, etc.), so that's not an issue. We were thinking of maybe eating lunches while on campuses? (Unless we should have Dim Sum for lunch one of the days...?) We're not on a super-tight budget, but we don't want to spend a whole bunch of money (No L'Espalier!). I really want to do CSB, but should our other two choices be??
Thanks for your help!!
