Hello - I have had so much fun reading all your posts. I'm going to be driving up to FW from Austin for a couple of days next month, and I think I have it distilled down to a good plan. I would love feedback.
This will be me, my 8 year old son, and my husband. Not looking for refined high-end this time, and definitely looking to immerse the kiddo in Cowtown culture. Will be going to the Chihuly exhibit in Dallas, but, well, here's the plan and the questions:
Arrive late Thursday afternoon
Amon Carter (open late on Thursdays)
Dinner - Fuzzy's - Q: is this a truly delicious destination-worthy place? Intrigued by reports of the shredded garlic beef - I love carne deshebrada - is it anything like that? My husband saw the words "spicy pork" on the menu and was sold - anyone had that? So, there, or should we head up to the Stockyards after our fill of Remingtons and Russells? Thinking of Cattlemen's, but we will be road and museum-weary....
Breakfast - Paris Cafe
off to Dallas for Chihuly - any lunch spots near the Arboretum or between south FW and Dallas?
Dinner - Love Shack or Cattlemens (maybe do Cattlemens this night, Love Shack on Thursday? Unless Fuzzy's wins....)
Breakfast - Esperanzas
Babe's - Burleson
Thanks for any input - looking forward to the trip, and I promise to report back.
