My husband and I are leaving the kids with the grandparents and spending a few days in Manhattan. We have visited several times and are always interested in trying new and different restaurants. We are not interested in places that are touristy or chains. We want good, freshly prepared food with excellent service - nothing too pretentious. Since we will be arriving around lunchtime, we are looking for a good lunch spot near our hotel on Central Park South (JW Marriott). Also, we need some suggestions for dinner on Wednesday night near Madison Square Garden. I've read several threads that suggest Keen's. However, we already have reservations at Peter Luger for Tuesday night and don't want to have steak two nights in a row. Other plans include The Highline and Freedom Tower, so suggestions for good lunch spots nearby are greatly appreciated. We love Italian, Asian (Thai is our favorite), seafood... a recommendation for an outstanding burger would be great. We don't love French and hate Greek. Thanks in advance!
