Dawn's Dishes - New Paltz

stopped in to check out Dawn's Dishes, in the little plaza opposite the College Diner east of New Paltz. It was Sunday and they were already sold out of ribs, good for them, bad for me. I ordered the pulled pork with one side , collard greens.
There are a couple of tiny tables but it really is a take out place. Even if you eat in, the food is served in a styrofoam container. The pulled pork was delicious and the serving was huge, about a pound and a half. The collard greens were also excellent, just simple flavorful and perfectly cooked. It also came with the best piece of cornbread that I have ever had. Great texture and taste and little kernels of slightly crunchy corn in it.
I want to suggest to Dawn that she install a simple red neon sign that says BBQ in the front window. It isn't apparent from the outside what is going on and I'm sure this would bring a lot more people in.
