Restaurants & Bars 3

Sesame, Teale Sq. Somerville | Sep 3, 2004 05:29 PM

After posting about Tapatio and Tibetan I got hungry so I went to Sesame, the new restaurant on Broadway in WEST Somerville (Teale Sq), where Yum Yum used to be. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the owner (?) of Sesame is the woman who used to work at Wang's (also the daughter of the owners of Wang's). She immediately informed me that her restaurant doesn't have the dumplings (which are my favorite) but I said that it was okay :)

Sesame is Japanese and Chinese, there were several specials that looked interesting, some different than Wang's and some similar. Also several "vegetarian meat" dishes, then all your classic Chinese restaurant stuff, Japanese stuff and sushi stuff as well. I just got an order of the vegetarian duck, which is cold bean curd skin wrapped around mushrooms and vegetables, very good. I was intrigued by a main dish on the specials board called Crispy Tofu with Garlic, will have to try that next time.

I am excited to go back to Sesame to try the special chinese dishes, this place is def. worth a try....i'm curious to hear if anyone else has eaten here yet...
