Recently I purchased a can of date syrup from a middle eastern store and I've been thinking of ways to use it: I opened the can and it's thinner than golden syrup and less sweet but a syrup that tastes like dates nonetheless (from what I can decipher from the ingredients it is purely date syrup).
I'd quite like to incorporate it into a sticky toffee pudding but unsure of a recipe / how best to use the date syrup, such as in place of actual chopped dates or in place of sugar... And / or using the syrup to make the sauce...
Any thoughts / suggestions / recipes would be welcome - even if just linking me to other threads / sites!
