Without driving all the way to Shields Date Farm in Indio, does anyone know where I can find an excellent date shake in the Los Angeles area?

The have it. It's full of dates but they don't have a Vitamix that would distribute them better. And I think they put soy milk in my order instead of cow milk which is an option so it had a bit of an off flavor. I'll go back because the food bar there looked very good and I hope I can get there and back on my bike... read more

    Ruby's Shake Shack is the latest incarnation of the Shake Shake that has been between Corona del Mar and Laguna Beach since the 1940's or so. They updated the kitchen and spiffed up the menu a bit.

Go Veggie, next to what use to be Marina Farms, used to have a really good one but then Marina Farms burned down and I haven't been back since. I saw a menu on Yelp that didn't show it but Ill have to go back and confirm one way or another.

I'll go back because the food bar there looked very good and I hope I can get there and back on my bike for my lunch break.

Still a bit of a a slog for most of LA, but closer than Indio for anyone west of, oh, Yucaipa or thereabouts.
