We happened upon this place a few months ago, purely by accident, and it's become a fairly regular dining spot for us. Persian/Mediterranean food that's about as authentic as it gets. Fantastic kebobs with good-sized hunks of meat or fish (they have salmon!), nicely spiced. I can't get away from the chicken kebobs, as they're juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked. The vegetarian combo plate is my other weakness, and the DH really likes their gyros (so much, we've ceased going to our previous fave for gyros). Appetizers are really good (love their hummus), and if you feel adventurous, try one of their two stews.
I know Santee isn't a destination for many of you, but it's close to home for me. We all know East County needs more non-chain options for dining, and especially those that don't offer the usual fare. This place has been a breath of fresh air. It's across from the GTM in a little strip mall. Try it! http://www.daryagrillrestaurant.com/
