I seem to go to Danube about once a year, and haven't been since the late fall of 2004. When I looked at the menu in front of the restaurant the other night, it didn't look all that different from what it was last year; my theory about Danube is that since there is so little competition in their particular niche (Central European-inspired food in a refined environment), they can coast along serving essentially the same dishes year in, year out. A schnitzel, some Tyrolean pasta, Tafelspitz and venison, plus toss in some seafood and evocatively-named desserts and you're good to go.
I have never been unhappy with the food, but IMO it isn't what it could be. However, I am going there again on Friday (not that I'm complaining), & would like to hear of any experiences people have had with Danube recently - good or bad.
