New Dallas Restaurants (long)

Shane | May 19, 2006 08:18 PM

I have recently been to a few new restaurants that I would like to share with everyone.

1. Yutaka Sushi Bistro, located on McKinney next to S&D Oysters. The chef, Yutaka Yamoto, was the sushi chef at Citizen, Nobu NY and the Dallas Nobu. He is awesome! You will never see or taste anything not fresh. He is as good as Tei Tei and Nobu yet with moderate prices. The only downside is the space is small.

2. Coal Vines Pizza and Wine Bar on Cedar Springs and Maple (under Medici and next to Citi Bank). The pizza is great, just like New York pizza. The Bolognese Pizza is so good and rich. All pizzas are prepared in a coal oven, hince the name. They also have wine that is priced unbelievably lower than most restaurants with this type of atmosphere. Try the Lo Strabismo (Italian Sauvignon Blanc) with the White Pizza or the Mormaraia Chianti with the Bolognese Pizza. The kitchen is ran by the chef of Il Mulino.

3. Twisted Root Burger Company is on the edge of Deep Ellum and downtown on Commerce Street. This place is very cool and relaxed. They have a great rooftop patio. The burger is the best that I have had in some time. You really get that fresh off the grill flavor. My favorite way is with bacon and blue cheese. The prices are great too. About 5.00 for a 1/2lb. burger. The fries are more like homeade chips with great seasoning. They are served with a really good ancho chili ketchup. They make their own ice creams too.
