Dallas food without driving?

Nathan Landau | Jan 30, 2006 06:41 PM

I'm planning to be in Dallas in a couple weeks, just for about 48 hours, from Thursday afternoon to Saturday afternoon. I'll be staying at the Adolphus Hotel downtown. For that short a time I'd rather not rent a car, but I'd still like to get some good chow. I think I'll be able to have two dinners and maybe a lunch.

I'm not really looking for Fine Dining. I'm also not really looking for Asian food (unless it's extraordinary), since I can get a lot of that at home in the Bay Area. But barbecue, Mexican, Tex-Mex, Southern are harder to come by around here. I'm open to other thoughts.

I'm willing to walk, take the light rail, take a bus, maybe even a not too pricy cab ride. Going to eateries in lively/interesting areas would be a plus.
