I will soon be visiting Dallas to research the fine-dining scene for a piece I am writing. We already have reservations at the Mansion on Turtle Creek. Where else should we go? This may sound odd, but I'm as interested in places that *think* they are hot stuff as in places that really are. I've heard of a chef named Avener Samuels (or something similar), but cannot find anything about him online. I'm also particularly interested in any fine-dining trends unique to Dallas, or that have only recently hit Dallas. Thanks for your help!
