Dal Rae: wow!

Jeff P-S | Nov 12, 2002 01:01 PM

Overall, I cannot add much to the previous positive reviews of Dal Rae in Pico Rivera, simply to say how much we enjoyed it. My wife and I were surprised at what a vibrant crowd we found -- frankly, we expected it to be populated with people who had grown old with the restaurant. Instead, it was filled with a wide mix -- children, families, dates, etc.

While the food was very good, the atmosphere was the real winner and draw. The iced crudites placed on the table was a real kick -- heck, I even contemplated eating radish. We had the Fish a la Ben -- fresh fish with parmasean crust and maui onions, and were so stuffed we couldn't finish our potatos let alone order dessert. However, the real highlight was certainly the tableside Caesar Salad -- not only was it the best we've ever had, it's probably the only real Caesar Salad we've ever had.

Service was delightful -- our waitress was wonderful, and the man who made our Caesar salad...who must have made dozens on that night alone...was passionate about preparing the salad, and treated us as though we were the only people in the restaurant. Now that's service.
