The few years there has been such a huge variety of non dairy milks added to store shelves it's bard to keep up! I remember back when it was basically just plain soymilk-which tasted really "bean-y". Blech.

I was thinking we should share our favorites that we BUY (obvs homemade would be the ideal) and love and how we use them. Let's table discussion of gums and carrageenan for now.

I'll start!

Blue diamond brand almond coconut milk, vanilla unsweetened flavor, has been my go to for a while now. Great for drinking as is, not too thin - or thick-texture, and goes on sale with some frequency.

Califa vanilla unsweetened almond milk, very good by the glass but much thinner than the almond/coconut above. Nice mild vanilla flavor. Hardly ever on sale and about $1.50 more for 48oz than other 64oz size almond milks.

Lucerne (safeway brand in CA) unsweetened vanilla almond milk is on par with blue diamond, slightly more intense "vanilla" flavor, but about a dollar cheaper. And unfortunately only at Safeway stores.

Califa "barista blend"- only wholesale- is the almond milk my favorite coffee shop uses. It foams up great and has a much thicker and more creamy mouthfeel

Blue Diamond Brand almond breeze, unsweetened chocolate flavor i buy once in a while for a dessert drink. Great semi-frozen in a mug in the summer, or hot with a little cinnamon in the winter.

Silk plain unsweetened soymilk, i only buy to use in savory recipes and have been very happy with it. No noticeable "beany" flavor, thicker consistency works for soups and sauces well.

Trader joe's canned coconut cream is my favorite for making "whipped cream" and occasionally i'll add the leftovers to a smoothie (amazing) or a soup/stew/curry.

Trader joe's canned "light" coconut milk is my go to for soups/stews/curries as well as using for coconut rice or sometimes oatmeal.

What am i missing out on?? Any hemp milk fans out there? Is the new cashew milk good? Is rice milk better than it used to be now?
