My kids (6 y/o) class is dairy free due to any allergy in the class (my own child is allergic to sesame) so I am looking for some tasty / kid friendly lunch ideas that are essentially nut (entire school is nut aware), sesame and dairy free. Dairy free is completely new to me and generally our lunches lean heavy on the dairy (think: mac and cheese, cheese sandwich, cheese cubes, yogurt, cheese crackers, etc...you name it, if it has milk we consume it!). We also have a thermos and my little one is not very picky so all options are on the table.
Some ideas I have so far:
- Spaghetti and meat sauce
- Tomato soup (with rice) and crackers
- Lentil soup
- Cereal / oat milk
- High protein waffles and syrup
- Dumplings / wonton
Any good "dairy free" cheese options?
(I don't want this to become a discussion about whether schools should accommodate allergies or not)
