I've recently had to switch to a cow's milk free diet while nursing my daughter, but I'd really like a sauce with my steak tonight! Was wondering if anyone has any tips for making a decent sauce without milk, cream or butter? Was thinking maybe a red wine reduction but most recipes still call for butter. Would it be ok without? If I was just cooking for myself I'd just give it a go and see, but there are other people involved so I'd rather not have a culinary disaster!
