I'm going to be hosting a dinner party in a town and at a site which has no experience with kosher cooking. The guests will range from reasonably observant (e.g. people will not mix milk and meat in a meal but will eat a vegetarian meal off non-kosher plates) to totally non-observant. Planning my menu, I'll be following the kosher laws, but, obviously, nothing I do will ever turn the meal into an actual kosher meal.
I'm stuck on an idea for dessert. What is your best -- and most festive -- dairy free dessert? Dairy free means just that; not even a tablespoon of butter is permitted.
Two other details: This dinner party will take place in early October so fall fruit should be in season and there will be around 100 guests.
