Dairy Dome in Stoneham

A while back, I read on one of the CH threads where Dairy Dome was now selling prepared Italian dishes as well as subs and pizza. Last night, I found myself driving by on the way home, and stopped to see what they had. I bought a piece of Eggplant Parmagiana, a chicken parm dinner, garlic bread, a quart of their wedding soup and a blueberry muffin. All were refrigerated (except for the muffin). I saved the muffin for this morning and last night, had a little bit of each of the other items. I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was wonderful. The sauce was very good and none of the dishes had that watery residue found on the bottom of most Italian "heat and eat" meals. The soup was definitly homemade and probably one of the best I've had in a long time. Usually vegetables are mushy but these were firmer and VERY fresh tasting. The meatballs were more small chunks of ground meat instead of formed balls. This time of year, I've never had veggies taste fresh picked. These did. They also had chicken soup that looked good as well. This morning, I had part of the blueberry muffin. It's probably one of the best I've ever had. They had other baked goods such as Italian cookies, different kinds of fruit squares, pastries as well as a few different kinds of by the lb salads, mac salad, tuna salad and chix salad. There was also a vaiety of other prepared items. All looked good. I'm glad I stopped......another "thanks to Chowhound" destination.
