Had a really good lunch today, at the Bayside branch of Dae Dong (also in Manhattan's K-Town) . . . cold noodles, nyung men, with fish, called hwa nyung men . . . never had it before, figured it is the summertime, or the end of it at least, better stick with the cold noodles instead of the customary dolsot bibimbap . . .
wow . . really good, and I made the mistake of getting the extra-large serving; I figured, three bucks more, let's go for it! . . . will have really good lunch tomorrow also, I think . . . heh heh . . .
cold noodles (vermicelli? very thing, like a skinny japchae noodle, yam) perfectly cooked, topped with a sweet sauce and a spicy one as well, kimchi, cucumber, kimchi radish, and puffer fish kimchi (this is the slightly rubbery, cartilagenous panchan I've always had, but never identified) . . . an ENORMOUS bowl, with a side of hot clear broth in case you want a warm noddle soup . . . sounds good, eh?
anyway, ya'll should try it, the Bayside branch is on Northern Boulevard, a few blocks east of Bell Boulevard, across from a Wendy's and Burger King.
If anyone else has recommendations for where to get this dish, please post!
