New folks took over the old Yantze Village a couple of weeks ago.
I just had lunch there and can say that it is a great improvement over the previous establishment.
The menu is pretty generic, but the ingredients and execution are above average.
For a first impression, I went with the Mongolian Beef lunch special. The Hot and Sour Soup had depth and was truly sour, but in a good way. The Mongolian Beef was tender with light but flavorful sauce. Also a nice salad.
Disclaimer: I have no interest in this restaurant except that I live two blocks away and would like to see a decent place succeed for those times when life requires take out.
While perhaps not a destination restaurant, I would encourage neighborhood people to check it out, especially if you'd given up on the Yangtze.
