Can I just cut the slimy parts off my rhubarb?

I bought some rhubarb stalks 11 days ago and neglected to use them. Now I'd like to make a crumble, but I'm not sure if my rhubarb is still edible. The stalks are brown and slimy on the ends but still fine, although a bit limp, in the middle. Can I just remove the slimy parts and still use the rest?

Thanks! Hate to waste food and am already annoyed with myself for forgetting I had the rhubarb!
