Best cut of lamb for biryani

Hello all, making lamb biryani for the first time soon. Most of the recipes I have found use lamb shoulder, cut up into pieces. I'm wondering if this would be the best cut or if any of you have any other recommendations? My concern is that shoulder would take a long slow process to become tender, and the biryani would not cook for the time needed. Any input?
