I purchased the Curtis Stone 12 inch multipan and 12 inch grill pan (cast aluminum with dura pan nonstick coating) as a special deal on HSN. I already have the larger durapan with lid. When the multipan and grill pan arrived today I was excited to try them. I made an omelette and the pan was great, nothing stuck and meal was delicious. HOWEVER, while cooking the two helper handles got EXTREMELY HOT and I did not dare touch them. I was careful, but I knew that in time I would forget and get a burn. I was hoping to pick up the pan and slide the omelette out onto a plate. I may have to return them for this reason only.
Does anyone have any suggestions - mini oven mitts, silicone covers, or anything else, or just return it? I am not a nonstick or regular cast iron fan, but do want to make eggs and pancakes in a nonstick pan. I want something where I can wash it with soap and water as I can with this pan.
I received the pan today and looked on the HSN website for reviews where others have just received their pan. Some of the reviews also did not like the handles getting so HOT.
