I headed over to Curry Shop last night with a few pals. The place was packed.
I was in the mood for curry, but my friends wanted fish 'n' chips. Fortunately, the Chip Shop and Curry Shop are connected and you can order from either menu in each room.
I ordered veggie samosas - two cumin-scented delights packed with spicy potatoes and peas. Then I ordered the veggie balti, a rich curry with lots of carrots and broccoli with a side of basmati rice. What was so nice about the curry is that there were none of those orange puddles of grease that you find in East 6th St. restaurants. It wasn't oily at all.
My friends ordered macaroni and cheese, seafood chowder, and cod and chips. So we were all happy! (The only thing I didn't like is that the mango lassi tasted like Kool-Aid. So I'll just order Typhoo next time.)
