The curry-diving adventure continues. Here’s an update with new chances to participate.

Monday, Nov. 17, 8:00pm – Belgian Beer and Dinner at PAKWAN (3182 16th St., SF, 415-255-2440)

Pakwan rivals Shalimar for the hearts and minds of dhaba-fans with its wider range of home-style Punjabi dishes. We’ll put the kitchen through its paces to see how it compares. Please BYOBB (bring your own Belgian beer) to share. Estimated cost: $15-20 per person, plus $8-14 for beer. PlumpJack in Noe Valley and BevMo are recommended for Belgian beer shopping. François Rabelais described Vouvray as “wines of taffeta”, for their silky textures and radiant flavors. Produced from the Chenin Blanc grape grown in the Touraine area of the Loire Valley, Vouvray wines are best at the table as an accompaniment to richly flavored and creamy sauces.

Shreesh Taskar and Melanie Wong have chosen some special Vouvray wines, ranging from bone-dry to semi-sweet and all the way up the sugar scale to dessert, plus sparkling wine, to show the many and varied personalities of Vouvray. The wine list:
