Current status of Shadowbrook in Capitola: stale or stellar?

Carb Lover | Oct 26, 200401:30 PM     14

Well, maybe the place falls somewhere in between these descriptors, but I'm quite curious about CH opinions on this place. I have been waiting for spontaneous posts about the subject and also did a search, but alas, the place certainly doesn't get the same kind of coverage as Passionfish :)

I've interpreted this lack of presence to mean that it's probably not very good now, maybe had its hey day a while back and has now become a draw for tourists who have read about it or prom-goers who want to feel all grown up for one night?? The menu on their website actually sounds good to me and the prix fixe seems reasonable if the food stands up.

So...what's the latest from those who have been? Differing opinions are certainly welcome!
