Enjoyed a nice meal at this newish South Philly restaurant on Saturday. I think they opened on Valentines Day. Started with yummy grilled calamari served with white beans--very nice, a tad too salty for me but otherwise great flavor and not overly chewy. Friends shared a "special" salad with grilled shrimp, baby lettuces and I think grilled peaches, all dressed in a light balsamic dressing. Main dishes were Veal Ann for me, the chef's creation which were several pieces of tender veal topped with portobello mushroom, shrimp, in a light sauce ($18). Others had thir "specials" of tuna, wild salmon and a filet with crabmeat (ranged from $20-25). We shared two desserts -tiramisu and a yummy lemon/white chocolate parfait. Parking can be tough, we lucked out and only had to walk a block. They are waiting for their liquor license so for now the BYOB is a good thing--as a bonus they offered some respectable jug wines gratis. Very friendly service also.
